From 24th to 27th August 2021, Ministry of External Affairs, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry along with EEPC India are going to organize the INDIA-ASEAN ENGINEERING PARTNERSHIP SUMMIT 2021. The summit will act as a unique opportunity to listen, interact, deliberate, exchange and build one’s business with ASEAN nations.
The summit is going to be organized virtually and primarily focuses on boosting Indian Bilateral Trade with the ASEAN economies. Govt. of India targets to double the trade with ASEAN nations by 2025 to $300 billion.
Today ASEAN is the fifth largest trading partner for India following North America, European Union, North-East Asia and GCC-West Asia.
ASEAN also happens to be the third largest Engineering Exports Destination for Indian Exporters.
In India’s total merchandise trade, ASEAN’s share in India’s export basket is 10.60 % while in terms of Engineering it’s 15.30 %.
In short, ASEAN is set to emerge as the fourth largest economy by 2050 after China, India, US.
